Regular Inspections for Long-Term Peace of Mind

With regular septic tank inspections and inspections for home buyers from Alligator Septic, you can have peace of mind knowing that your system is operating at its peak efficiency. By scheduling routine inspections, we can detect minor issues that, if left unattended, might lead to costly repairs or even the need for a complete septic system replacement. Early detection is key, and our inspections are designed to catch problems in their infancy, saving you time, money, and stress in the long run.

For example a cracked lid allowing sand to get into the tank will cause the tank to fill with sand and reduce the tanks capacity this often leads to drain field failure. We can spot the cracked lid pump and pressure wash the tank to remove sand and sludge and replace the lid all in the same day.

Our Comprehensive Inspection Process

At Alligator Septic, we believe in leaving no stone unturned when it comes to your septic tank's inspection. Our comprehensive service includes:

1. Locate Septic Tank: We start by walking your property to find the tank and drain field. If no manhole covers are present our experts will begin probing to locate the septic tank. Once the opening is found we begin digging down to open the tank cover.

2. Sludge and Scum Level Evaluation: We will measure and evaluate the level of sludge and scum inside your tank. We check for sand and debris in the bottom. This is an indicator of tank or lid damage. This information allows us to determine if pumping is necessary to prevent clogging or system failure.

3. Pumping & Cleaning The Tank: In order to inspect your tank thoroughly its needs to be cleaned thoroughly. we pump the tank down and pressure wash every crevice of the tank to expose possible cracks or missing components that are critical to system longevity.

4. Visually Inspect Tank Interior: After pumping we examine the interior of your septic tank looking for lid damage, sidewall, and bottom damage. We check to see how the inlet pipe coming into the tank looks. We will measure the tank to see how many gallons it is.

5. Drain field Assessment: We start by making sure the outlet baffle is in place and meets code requirements. Then we will run clean water from a hose down the drain field and make sure its draining properly.

Prompt Reporting and Expert Recommendations

After completing the inspection, our dedicated team will provide you with a detailed report, outlining the findings and any recommendations for maintenance or repairs. We will send photos of all our findings to show you or the seller of the home what the condition is. Our goal is to empower you with the knowledge needed to make informed decisions and to give you leverage when buying the home so you can go to the seller with costs to bring the system up to code.

Many of the systems we inspect typically require only a few repairs to bring them up to code and, most importantly, make them functional. Therefore, when you move into your new house, you can have peace of mind knowing that everything will go down as it should when you flush the toilet.

Alligator Septic vs General Home Inspector for Septic Inspections

Septic System Replacement Could Cost Thousands. When it comes to purchasing a home on septic, it is essential to get the inspection done thoroughly.

  • If you call around there are many companies that claim they can inspect your septic system without opening the tank and pumping it out.

The tank must be opened up and pumped out to check for tank structure and drain field condition.

  • You absolutely need to inspect no matter what the circumstance are. If the tank was pumped last week or the system was just installed last year you need to inspect it. Many systems are not pumped or installed properly.

  • Dry grass does not mean that your septic system is working condition. The tank could have issues or it may be in good condition. The only way to know is to dig up the tank and pump it out.
